A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has hit Christchurch at 4.35am today, causing minor injuries, cutting power, and rupturing water. At least 20 roads had been damaged and some were impassable. Some old buildings collapsed and smashed on top of the cars. Millions of dollars worth of things in Christchuch is wrecked.
I was shocked as I heard the breaking news that was an earthquake in Christchurch. I thought of the people that was seriously injured in the quake and they must be in a lot of pain.
I hope that all the people that were injured will be safe and Christchurch will be fixed quickly.

Hernandez Leads United To Victory
Javier Hernandez has lead Man U to victory after outplaying Stoke City 2-1. The Scoring started when Nani's corner somehow glided straight past the defenders where it found Hernandez and he managed to guide a superb header beyond the outstretched arm of Thomas Sorenson.
The controversy was With nine minutes of the game remaining Tuncay picked the ball up on the right hand side and curled a beautiful strike into the top left hand corner to give Van Der Sar no chance. But a few minutes later Evra did a bicycle kick which was supposed to be a shot but he didn't hit the target. Fortunately the ball went to Hernandez who just took a touch and the ball went straight to the back of the net to seal the victory.
2-1 the end result and Man United go home with a win at Stoke.
P.S. GO MAN UNITED!!!!!!!!!..........Again.

An Astonishing Victory!
"Yesssssssssssss!" I screamed as I just found out that the Reds had yet another 3-0 victory but this win was against West Ham. Although West Ham was at the bottom of the table they still had a chance (not). The goals started as soon as Wayne Rooney kicked the ball right in the net from the penalty spot at the 33rd minute and then Nani showed his class 5 minutes into the second half with a beautiful shot Past the Goalie and it land in the net. But Man U wasn't done yet, a nice cross to the far post and Berbetov waited unmarked before doing a wonderful scissor kick and the Goalie just stood there watching the ball fly into the net and that was it for West Ham, another loss still keeps them at the bottom of the table.
I would tell you more about the game but it would just go on and on and on... But whatever happens you now know who's the best.

"Fire!"
"Fire!". Well your probably wondering why the title is "fire!". It is because on Thursday 21st October the Henderson Firefighters and one Glen Eden fireman visited Anawhata.
When they got here the whole of Anawhata came into our class (Room 17). They introduced themselves. Afterwards a fireman called Andrew talked to us about what you should do with matches if you find it on the floor and are they tools or toys. Andrew also told us where to put a candle.
After he showed us a video of a candle fire and how fast fire can spread and how dangerous smoke is. He showed us a flip chart of a girl in a fire while she was in bed and the fire alarm went off because it sensed smoke. Then she crawled out of bed, shut the door from where the fire was coming from, crawled to the window, got out and walked to their meeting place at the mailbox. Then she called 111 and he firefighters came with all their gear and used their hoses to close the fire down.
Then we came to the most exciting part, we went out to the courts to see their fire truck! They let us have a little look at it and the we got in a huge line to have a turn to use the hose. After everyone had a turn the teachers had a little turn and then they put the hose away. One of the fireman got up the ladder and turned on the big hose and fired it in the air. The court that was getting sprayed had a lot of foam from the water that was being blasted so hard. It was awesome!
They left after they packed everything up. We sat on the steps while they were packing and then walked back to class. It was really fun that the firemen came so thanks firemen...... and the Anawhata All Stars teachers.

Edwin Van Der Sar Mistake Costs Man United
Manchester United dropped Wayne Rooney to the bench before blowing a two-goal lead and drawing 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion.
United didn't appear to be missing Rooney when Javier Hernandez and Nani scored in the first half. But after the break, Chris Brunt's free kick went in off Patrice Evra before Somen Tchoyi tapped in from six yards after Edwin van der Sar dropped a cross from Brunt. Rooney played the last 20 minutes as United drew a third straight match.

Frog!
Today (Saturday 16th October 2010) we just found a frog in our garden, well actually my uncles garden. It is a Green Bell Frog and it is an introduced species, that means it is not native to New Zealand but has been brought in. In this case from Australia. I never had seen a frog in New Zealand but now I have. When my grandad saw it he came and told us so we all went outside to see. He got a bucket and carefully collected it. Now I know why people say frogs are disgusting. Next we contained it and came inside to check what kind of species it was. It didn't look exactly the same as the one on the Internet but we e-mail MAF (Ministries of agri culture and fisheries) the pictures and they said it was a Green Bell Frog. They said to put the frog in a container, then put it in the fridge, next put it in the freezer and by then it will be dead so then we send it to them. Well didn't exactly want to do that so we are still keeping it in the bucket. They say a frogs can jump up to 2-3 metres high and long. I have no idea if it's dead or alive and I don't want to. So that's the story of a frog in a family garden which happens to be true.

The Holiday's Come To An End
The holiday's has finally come to an end and it just went so fast. I was so excited that the holiday's had finally come but it just went so fast so now I'm getting ready to go back to school.
The time where we have all the time in the world is gone and we have to go back to school and study.....ohhhhh but one thing is sure that when we grow older, we will be intelligent people and we will thank whoever invented school..... if he's alive.
For me it wasn't the best holiday's ever and you would probably know that if you have been reading my other blogs so I'm happy to go back to school but at the same time I'm sad that the holiday's is over. So that is pretty much it so tomorrow our life will change.... well not really.

Father and Son Day.....
Well actually it was a god father and son day. My uncle who is my god father that gave my parents 50c to become my god parents and their is also my god mother. They gave my parents 50c because it is part of our religion and it's like giving a promise that you will protect the person if anything happens to the parents so they are like the back-up parents. A few days ago my god father (uncle) was reading my blog and went went across a blog about me being so lonely so he took a day off today (Friday 8 October 2010) to spend the whole day with me. The moment I found out that he took a day off I was so happy because I hadn't done anything exciting this holiday's. Because I was at my grandma's house, he picked me up from there at 8:30 in the morning! It took both my other uncle and grandma an hour to wake me up. Ok enough of talking about how long it took me to wake up and back to the story. He got there and immediately we left. We started our day with a yummy breakfast at McDonald's and I had everything you would love to have for breakfast. After that we were drove to the cinemas to watch Dairy of a Wimpy Kid but unfortunately my uncle drove his way to the wrong cinema. But we sorted it out by waiting to 10:30am to watch the movie instead of 9:30am. The movie was awesome! Then we cruised to another uncle place to get some golf clubs to use at the driving range which is a place where you just drive balls and try to get the furthest hit. There was a car sitting in the middle of the driving range and you were able to hit it. I hit it twice but my god father said it went under the car. That was pretty much it for the activity's and now we were going to have lunch and we couldn't decide but eventually we did, Oporto's. That's was the end of our fun day and I gave him a big hug and said thank-you for the best day of my holiday's.

Brain Freeze...Neck Freeze...Chest Freeze...?
Right now (9:32pm, Thursday 7 October 2010) I'm having this freezing drink that keeps giving me a brain freeze, chest freeze and a neck freeze. This happens when you have something cold so you get kind of a cold breeze inside your body but I don't know how it happens. Although I'm still getting brain, neck and chest freezes I'm not gonna stop drinking because it's soooo nice. There a ways you can stop your brain, neck or chest freeze and here they are but this is not all the ways to stop them there are more.
The first way to stop it is to start laugh with your mouth open after you have had a bite, sip or whatever it is which will allow some warm air to enter your mouth. Then put your tongue on the roof of your mouth for a few seconds but you must put you tongue flat on the roof of your mouth not just the tip.
The second way to stop it is if you feel a sharp pain in the back of your neck that's Brain Freeze, place the palm of your hand on your neck and rub it.
Another way to stop painful Brain Freeze is to cup your hand over your mouth and nose. Then, breathe in and out quickly through your mouth. Your warm breathe will help warm the nerves above the roof of your mouth.
As soon as you feel that headache or pain in your neck start, drink some warm water. The water will help warm your mouth and stop the pain.
Now there are more but those are a few. So that's the story of brain freeze...

New Earth-Like Planet Discovered
US astronomers have discovered an Earth-sized planet that they think might be habitable. Habitable means that it is capable to be inhabited or suitable and fit for a person to live in.
Astronomers say it is the first time they have clearly spotted a planet beyond our solar system in what is sometimes called the Goldilocks zone, where key conditions for life to exist are just right.
Not too far from its star it orbits around - red dwarf star Gliese 581 - but not too close. So it is not too hot, not too cold for liquid water and life. It is just right. Just like Earth.
The planet, named Gliese 581g, has a mass three to four times that of Earth and an orbital period of just under 37 days.
And it is in our galactic neighbourhood. That suggests that plenty of Earth-like planets circle other stars and maybe that we are not alone.
The National Science Foundation announced the finding Wednesday. The planet circles a star that is 193 trillion kilometres away, which is closer than most stars.

United Go Home With One Point...
Edwin Van Der Sar produced a fine 16th minute save to deny Steed Malbranque and then saw his team mate Bolo Zenden hit the 8 minutes before the break as the home side enjoyed much the better of the first half.
Half time substitute Dimitar Berbetov had a 48th minute strike ruled out for offside and after Nani forced a good stop from Simon Mignolet, fired centimetres wide 10 minutes from time as United improved after the restart. However, the Black Cat's were more than good value for their point in front of an appreciative crowd of 41,709.

The Gospal Concert!
On a Saturday night we went to some place in south Auckland to see a Gospel concert with Dr. Vijay Benidict! You might be wondering who is Dr. Vijay Benidict. Well he is a very famous Christian singer but he used to be a bollywood singer. You might know that that I'm not Christian but we got invited because the rest of my family is so that's why. He was amazing but unfortunately when he was talking about Jesus I could not really hear because I was at the back. Dr. Vijay Benidict made big fame with one song called Disco Dancer but because how much he loved Jesus he sacrificed his career as a bollywood singer to sing for the lord.
We all really enjoyed the time there and I had finally gone to my first concert but not the way I really wanted it to be.

An Empty Part In My Life
My Paternal Grandfather is the one person empty part in my life. He was born in the year 1929 but sadly died on the 19th June 1998. Unfortunately that was just 3 months after my mum and dad got married and before I was born. He died in his sleep.
He was a tall person but I can only assume that because I can only see his photo. He wore glasses that aren't like the ones you get today and he had grey hair with streaks of black. As I said before, I can only describe his appearance by the photo.
He was quite strict according to my dad and when they used to have dinner together, they couldn't leave the table until their plate was empty. My Aaja (What I call him) was a very humble person. He would not speak with a high tone and was very much liked by people in the community. He had a BIG farm (over 10 acres) where he planted sugar cane, rice and he had Goats, Horses, Chickens, Ducks and Cows. My dad has experienced the farm lifestyle but my mum and I haven't. To fulfill her desire, my mum enjoys virtual farming (Farmville on Facebook).
I feel that a little part of my heart is missing and that part is My Aaja. I really miss him and just wish he was around to at least to see me.

Now So Lonely
Yes, now I am so lonely because as you know I don't have any siblings. Yesterday my cousin left so I have no one to play outside with that's my age. The week she was here, we played outside everyday for about an hour except Thursday because it was not the best wheather to play outside. We still had thing to do inside like play Wii, a board game and other things. Luckly next week I'm probably going out with my friends to places and that is better than staying home.
I need to have a lot of fun because the school holiday's is almost to an end.

Emergency Landing Near Blenheim
There has been an emergency landing near Blenheim at Woodbourne Airport at about 1pm. The 46 passengers that were on board were uninjured. A mother on board wrote that the plane tried to land in Nelson Airport a lot of times. The flight was going to Nelson from Wellington but the flight was redirected to Blenheim. The aircraft experienced a few mechanical failures including a nose-wheel failure which means that the front wheel had collapsed. I'm so glad that no one is injured at the end.
A Week Of The Holidays Gone...
Today we are doing absolutely nothing and that means not going to places with my grandad that I would not go even if I was dead. It is a really cloudy day and I'm lying down on the couch and writing this blog. I have no intention to go anywhere the whole day. Today my cousin will be leaving and then next week I will be able to go to the mall and do stuff with my friends. My grandad is ironing clothes right now and he is constantly squirting water at me. So that is pretty much it.
Two Trains Colliding
Wellington daily travellers are being warned to expect delays today after heavy rain hit the city, causing several landslides, contributing to a head-on crash between two trains and closing the North Island's main rail line.
The two trains, carrying a total of 60 people, collided near Plimmerton, North of Wellington, about 3.15pm yesterday after the north-bound train hit a slip and de-railed into the path of the southbound train.
Three passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Kiwi Rail spokesperson Nigel Parry said the two drivers, who coincidentally were father and son, were both uninjured and will be off work to give them time to cope with the incident.
It took several hours to unload the passengers, 40 from the northbound train and 14 from the southbound train due to poor weather and the danger of exposed wires.
Hope the weather gets better and all the people who were on the train recover from their minor injuries.
